The lab teams comprise data scientists software engineers support engineers and consultants from more than 20 countries working on major IBM projects including Data Engineering Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The AI Centre of Excellence drives research in generative AI natural language processing and enterprise AI applications. IBM Poland Global Business Services provides data engineering hybrid cloud consulting AI solutions and enterprise transformation services.

The IBM Poland Software Lab in Krakow is the first and largest IBM innovation hub in Central and Eastern Europe and the only one of its kind within this region in Europe part of the companys Software division spanning five continents. The technology stack reflects focus on enterprise AI and cloud computing with teams working on Java Python Go and modern cloud-native architectures on Kubernetes. Jaroslaw Szymczuk previously served as Country General Manager and currently leads IBM Consulting in Central and Eastern Europe. The firm maintains partnerships with Polish universities particularly AGH University and Jagiellonian University in Krakow creating a strong talent pipeline.
