Nokia Corporation Global Capability Center (Noida)

Nokia India Solutions in Noida is one of the country's most established telecommunications GCCs, with approximately 12,000 engineers who develop the network infrastructure software deployed in telecommunications networks across more than 60 countries. Established in 2001, the Noida centre has been a constant in Nokia's engineering network through the company's various strategic transformations — from mobile handsets to pure-play network technology — and today focuses on 5G radio and core network software, fixed network broadband technology, and cloud-native network services.

The centre's most technically demanding work is in 5G standalone core network engineering — developing the cloud-native software functions that form the brain of a 5G network, managing subscriber authentication, session management, policy control, and network slicing. Nokia is one of only three global vendors capable of delivering 5G end-to-end network infrastructure at scale, and India engineers are writing software that determines how Nokia's products perform for operator customers including Deutsche Telekom, Verizon, and AT&T. Nokia Bell Labs research in India, while smaller than the Noida centre, contributes to standards-track innovations in optical networking and AI for communications.

Nokia India targets 13,000 employees by 2027, with growth in 5G standalone core, fixed wireless access, and AI-driven network automation. The Sector 135 campus in Noida's established IT corridor provides solid infrastructure, and Nokia's unique position in the global 5G infrastructure duopoly (with Ericsson) gives India engineers genuine global significance in the telecommunications technology landscape.
