"Intuitive Surgical Inc., headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, is a global technology leader in minimally invasive care and robotic-assisted surgery with $10.1 billion in revenue (FY2024) and over 17,000 employees worldwide. The company opened its Global Capability Center in Bengaluru in September 2024 at Embassy Golf Links, inaugurated by CEO Gary S. Guthart and Karnataka's Minister for Medical Education. This is Intuitive's first GCC in India and serves as one of its core global hubs for IT support, enterprise analytics, software quality, and post-market surveillance.

The Bengaluru GCC plays a critical role in Intuitive's global operations, supporting the overall product lifecycle including product upgrades, quality improvement, and customer service for the da Vinci robotic surgical system. The centre focuses on new and emerging technologies like AI and machine learning, functioning as a high-value innovation hub that supports operations around the world. With over 9,902 da Vinci systems installed globally and 2,683,000 surgical procedures completed in 2024, the India team's work directly impacts patient outcomes worldwide.

Intuitive expects to employ more than 250 full-time positions at the GCC across IT, enterprise analytics, software quality, HRMS, and post-market surveillance functions. The centre represents Intuitive's commitment to building a strong presence in India's healthcare ecosystem and expanding minimally invasive care. Bengaluru's vibrant technology development scene and skilled talent pool provide an ideal environment for the GCC, which will also contribute to training surgeons and strengthening the surgical robotics ecosystem in India."
